The Tanto was a traditionally made sword worn by the Samurai of the feudal class,

The Tessen was considered a symbol of authority in Japan,
and also used as a self defence weapon when unarmed or in extroardinary situations.
The tessen was made of iron ribs and later on the fan was invented as a fold in, so the fan would fold into an iron handle and looked just like mini portable batten used in combat.

Wakizashi
The Wakizashi was a smaller sword of the Katana (samurai sword).
The Wakizashi swords were used when in indoor areas with low ceilings, because the Samurai Sword would be too long to be used in combat in those area's and would be impossible, so therefore they used the Wakizashi as a secondary weapon just in case.

The Samurai Armour was made espeacially for combat consisted of metals, colourful cloths and other materials that made is well presented in battle, truley a work of art.
